Batch a month of content in one afternoon

Are you tired of spending all your time creating content? I get it. And you’re not alone. A lot of small business owners I talk to come to me for that exact reason - Because they’re tired of feeling like their content, branding and social media has become another full-time job. Luckily, there are some simple things you can do to create more ease and flow for yourself.

You see, if you create content daily, you're switching gears 30 times a month, which is going to make content creation extremely time consuming. That’s where batch work comes in. Batching content means doing the same type of work in one sitting. For example: taking or collecting pictures first, prepping text drafts next, filming after. It's faster, easier, and (surprisingly) often more creative. When you don’t try to constantly shift focus, you create more ease and flow for yourself, which boosts inspiration.

Create a lot of content in little time

You can play around with batch work where you do different things on different days, or where you do things during the same day but in focused chunks of time. For example, here's a simple 3-hour plan that you can try out:

Hour 1 — Plan (45 min)

  • Pick your content pillars

  • Write 12–16 post ideas, 3–4 per content pillar

  • Choose which ones need photos or video

Hour 2 — Create (60 min)

  • Write captions in one go, rough drafts are fine for now

  • Create visuals using your templates

  • Take the photos or short clips you need

Hour 3 — Schedule (30 min)

  • Upload and schedule everything

  • Add relevant hashtags and / or links

  • Leave 2–3 empty slots for spontaneous posts

Make content creation more easy and fun

Your content, branding and marketing should support you and your business, not be something that’s draining you. So have fun with it! And set up routines and structures that work for you, to free up time and energy for other things.

Here are some tips that might help make your batch work session a more enjoyable experience:

  • Do it when you have energy, not at the end of the day when you’re all worn out.

  • Put on music, grab a snack, put on your favorite outfit. Make it a celebration!

  • Don't edit while writing - Make it exist first, and improve it after.

Result: A month worth of content, and 29 days where you don't have to think about it.

Try it: Block 3 hours in your calendar this week to make it happen. Then when you’ve done it, please let me know! I would love to hear more about how this worked out for you, and see if I can support you in any way.
